The Joy of Everyday Objects was a series of workshops I designed and delivered to adolescent girls living in Oldham. I asked them a simple question - what brings you joy? Through weekly sessions at Yuvanis Foundation, we figured out the answer, together. They brought seashells, jewellery, plushies, and other objects, playful and gorgeous, creating a portrait of girlhood. They explored this concept using writing, print-making, collage and drawing. I documented their work and designed a zine called Girljoy which was distributed at Khushi Festival 2025.
